In our quest to chase down the obscure Russian miniature tubes we use in the Valve Job-II, we stumbled across many tubes we never knew existed in the wild. Besides some excellent Russian variants we were able to find for the standard edition, a complete and total surprise was that a US military version of this same style magical, microscopic dual triode tube existed ! Besides their use in tube computers and avionics equipment, there are audio uses. We discovered the magic that these tubes can bring when used in the unique way we use them in this series of pedals. Our circuit sidesteps microphonics and tube hiss, while providing truly blissful tube D-style tones.

As it turns out these US made Philips tubes are more amazing than the Russian tubes. Andy bought a few to experiment and like them so much, we looked for more ! What you get is a more rounded clipping, a bit more organic and harmonically structure and a rich midrange with more compression and touch sensitivity when pushed-hard.

Due to the extremely limited amount of these tubes we were able to obtain (and screen for our circuit), we’re doing an extremely limited 100 pc run. This run is fully built, and shipment would be virtually immediate upon purchase. There are and will not be lists for the blue series. There are also no promises of a future run (which is dependent on what we can find on the tube market and what meets our specs).

The new limited edition Blue Valve Job-II will warm your heart, warm your tone, and surely become more valuable over time, due to the limited quantities the market allows us to build. Each one will be signed by Andy after calibration.

NOTE: ALL SALES ARE FINAL!
We cannot offer refunds under any circumstances.

Fuchs Audio is pleased to introduce our newest pedal the Valve Job II

The new Fuchs Valve job II is the first of an upcoming series of pedals to bear the Fuchs brand. It will be a limited-edition pedal, due to the use of a rare Philips JAN miniature computer tube with a limited availability. Once these tubes are gone, this pedal will be as well. We are using the tube in an extremely conservative fashion, so it should last many years without replacement.
Incorporating our Pure Gain© circuit with a redesign of the original Valve Job circuit to produce a D-style pedal that can do so much more. The Pure Gain is on all the time, so the pedal makes a great buffer to drive long cables and a pedalboard with minimal tonal losses from cabling or switches. Factory set to 10db of boost (internally adjustable up to 24db). The footswitch switches from buffer to boost silently.
The Valve Job portion is a four-knob design (just like the original) with gain, touch, tone and level controls. It features a regulated tube heater which runs the tube at half its normal heater voltage for lowest noise and to intentionally encourage grid current which vastly enhances the distortion characteristics. The distortion can be dialed-in from a smooth horn-like drive, all the way to a hard rock screamer style distortion and everything in between.
Built in a premium powder-coated aluminum enclosure with baked-on silk screening, premium components, controls and jacks. Comes with 1-year warranty on pedal (excluding abuse). Assembled in USA of premium imported and domestic components.

Valve Job II notes:
TUBES: You should never need a replacement in the life of the pedal.

POWER SUPPLIES: These pedals use a somewhat higher current than any pedal not using a tube, therefore a high current 9V supply is highly recommended. These pedals require a power supply capable of 500ma at 9 volts minimum. Many inadequate power supplies will exhibit a voltage sag, shutdown at cold-start (due to tube filament) or become noisy when high currents are drawn from them. We have tested this design with Visual Sound and Godlyke supplies, and those supplies and these pedals work terrific together. Often, multi-voltage supplies like the Voodoo Labs tend to be noisy on some outputs, as the current is not adequate. We do not believe there is any appreciable benefit to any higher voltage power supplies. If you experience a hum or whine, please try a different power supply before contacting us or sending a pedal back. In the event a return is needed, an RA number from Fuchs is required or the shipment will not be accepted.

REPLACEMENT VALVE JOB TUBE: In the unlikely event the tube requires replacement, the pedal should be sent to Fuchs. The replacement cost is $ 95.00 to remove and replace the tube.

Power 9 volts at 500ma. Due to current required, this operated on a center negative 9V supply (not included).
Gain boost: factory set to 10-db, maximum 24db available.
